This Cookie Policy explains how Sister Studio uses cookies and similar technologies on [sisterstudio.co.uk] (the "Site"). It should be read alongside my [Privacy Policy], which explains how I handle personal data more generally.
What cookies are
2
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to improve performance, and to provide information to site owners about how their site is being used. Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (which remain until they expire or you delete them).
How I use cookies
3
The Site is built on Squarespace, and the cookies used fall into the following categories.
Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the Site to function and cannot be switched off. They do things like keep the Site secure, remember your cookie preferences, and check whether your browser can accept cookies. Examples include Squarespace's security cookie (crumb) and the cookie that records your consent choice (ss_cookieAllowed).
Analytics and performance cookies. These help me understand how visitors use the Site, for example which pages are viewed and how people arrive, so I can improve it. The Site uses Squarespace's own built-in analytics for this. These are first-party cookies (set by the Site itself, not a third party) and include cookies such as ss_cvr and ss_cvt, which record anonymous visitor and visit information. I do not use Google Analytics.
Functional cookies. These remember choices you make to improve your experience, such as form information you have entered. They are set by Squarespace as part of the Site's normal operation.
Third-party cookies
4
Some pages may include content embedded from third-party platforms, such as an Instagram feed. When you view or interact with this content, the relevant platform may set its own cookies. I do not control these cookies, and you should check the cookie and privacy policies of those platforms for details. Examples of platforms whose content may appear on the Site include Instagram (Meta).

Contact

The Site is connected to Google Search Console, which reports on how the Site performs in Google search results. This is a tool for me as the site owner and does not place tracking cookies on your device as you browse. It is included here for transparency.
When you first visit the Site, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the Site cannot function without them.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie banner controls, or by adjusting your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings or preferences menu. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Site works.
For more information on managing cookies, including how to do this in specific browsers, see [aboutcookies.org] or your browser's help pages.
I may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Site or to the cookies used. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
